Today, one can find various recreational activities at the dam. A tent campground exists on the east side of the reservoir where bird dog meets and power boat races are held several times throughout the year. Campers at the West Thompson Campground can also play golf, go whitewater paddling, and go swimming. There is also a four mile trail that wraps its way around the lake, allowing for hikers to experience meadow, forest, and wetland environments. Furthermore, there is a boat launch and fishing on the lake is legal (species of fish include bass, perch, pickerel, and horned pout).
